The Association is a non-profit organization and its purpose is to engage in public benefit activities under the category of Welfare and Humanitarian activities as approved in section 18A of the Income Tax act of 58 of 1962. The DVG is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) which enables our benefactors who have made bona fide donations to our PBO to claim a tax deduction after receiving a Section 18A certificate. Our PBO registration number is 930082761.
The main objective of the Association is to raise funds for fire fighting equipment, and clothing and other resources as may be required to serve the St Francis Bay and Cape St Francis Community and to assist in a supportive capacity in the event of a disaster.
To recruit and train volunteers.
To provide friendly and accessible focal point of contact between the local community and St Francis Fire Department.
To promote and raise fire safety awareness within all sectors of the community.
To work in partnership with St Francis Fire Department and their progress toward Fire Safety society.
To involve all sectors of the community focusing on participation from diverse groups.
